Review: Rogue Rider by Larissa Ione

Book Synopsis:

"The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride.

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man that Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man that can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know his background, or why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world with death and destruction, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?" -from Goodreads.com

What I Thought:

Rogue Rider is the last book in Larissa Ione's Lords of Deliverance Series, and pretty much sums up all of the previous books through out the story. I started this book with no knowledge of the other books, but was reassured that these books are great stand alone stories. I had absolutely no problem catching up on everything that had happened and exactly who was who in this story.

Basically here's the short synopsis, in my opinion;

Jillian lives in the middle of friggin' nowhere Colorado. She finds a naked dude laying out in a snowbank, half frozen, and brings him back to her home to unthaw the poor guy. He turns out to be freaking AMAZINGLY attractive, what with his nice blonde hair and muscles. He has no idea who he is, other than that his name is Reseph. Well, Reseph is Pestilence, one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse that happened to have killed thousands of people in about a year. Reseph was the first of the Horsement to have his seal broken, which caused his evil side  (Pesilience) to take over and trigger the apocalypse. So basically the whole story is about him trying to figure out who he is and falling for Jillian. Obviously there's a lot more to it than that, a lot a lot, but I can't divulge too much without spoiling it.

Resph doesn't wear a shirt for a lot of this book, and I have to say I'm not going to complain. I totally loved that. Haha. Jillian is a pretty awesome character, and usually the heroines in paranormal romance are super tough or super whiny. Jillian can hunt, take care of her animals, her home, cut wood, and do all that awesome stuff on her own. She's self sustaining which is really refreshing. Reseph is a really funny guy, caring, and rather protective. These two combined are like the perfect person, so no wonder why they belong together!

The writing of this book was amazingly well done, and it kept me on my toes. There was twist after twist and new information was revealed about the other characters of the series through out this book. Lots of tasty smexy scenes that were really well written as well. I'm looking forward to going back and reading the other three books, which are on the way to me right now, and catching up on the full story.

There's some pretty awesome information you find out about Reaver and Harvester too. But, you have to read to the end of the book to find out! It's awesome!

I recommend this book to anyone who loves Larissa's writing, anyone who loves a well written paranormal romance, and anyone who likes the whole good/evil struggle.

I just want to go EEEEEEEEEEEEE every time I see the cover of this book. That's how much I loved it!
